Question for Kevin - Headlight Switch

Hey Kevin - I searched and found nothing, so perhaps this has not been discussed...

I have been wanting to install a remote trunk switch. I have seen where people have tied into the proper wire and mounted a remote switch in the glove box (such as in this thread http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showth...release+button).

But I want something a little more accessible. And I don't want to be drilling holes all over. I would like to end up with a stock / factory look...

A salesman stopped into work the other day and he was driving an 07 Ford 500. I looked at the interior and noticed that the headlight switch pod looks similar to the one in the Mustang, and it had a switch for the trunk release!

So, the question is: are the headlight switch pods the same size?

Ya I caught That when Looking at the 500's It Might Work. Would Need to Get one and Play with it. Another Option is you Could Drill a Hole in the Headlight Switch itself just to the Right of the Dimmer Switch. That way if you Change your Mind Later you Simply Replace the Headlight Switch. Fyi the 500 Switch Has a Retail of $129.31 in The States Curently.

Interesting - so, is this something you can compare with the actual parts? (Assuming you have access to them.)

I suppose the main thing is the physical size of the pod. If it will fit, the wiring is not a problem. It would certainly have a nice factory appearance, which is what I am after.

Thanks for looking into it...

I was Just about to Order one when I decided to Go Walk the Lot and See what I could See. It Appears the Switch is the Same Basic Shape But Longer. I believe I came to the Same Conclusion a Year ago which is why I never pursued it. Maybe the 10 Stang will have something Different we could use!

I noticed the Milan or Fusion has the headlight switch/trunk release combo. At least I think I was looking in a Milan the other day. Might be a cheaper solution.
