It's a Beautiful Day and I am enjoying it playing around with some 1/4 inch Silver Metallic Stripe Tape. I may leave it on I may take it off but it's cheap and I am having fun! You may get an idea or two from these pics! I am simulating more Retro Styling Clues for a Simulated Chrome Effect! The tail lamps are pretty sweet though.

I like the way chrome trim would look on the grille, the rear would look a little busy like that.

Cool idea to kill time on a nice day

I like it. Front and rear. At first it looked busy, but I definitely like it. Possibly even play around with a chrome corral trim around the horse and the four chrome bars coming from it like the '65 and '66 GT's.

Edit: I don't like the two lines of chrome tape on the rear panel like in that one pic. That is too much. Around the lights looks good IMO.

i think the tape around the rear lights would look better in black to match the car

Cool way to have some fun on a Sunday afternoon.
I like it in between the tail lights but maybe in black.

Excellent Example! I have been leaning towards a Red Side Stripe vs a Silver Stripe as your car has, plus it would match my Harley Truck! Can you post a Good Side Shot for me? The Mods I have done were inspired by Styling clues from a Big Mustang History book with some great pics!

Thanks

Definitely looks like a fun afternoon project! I really like the light outlines (saved the pic as yet another "to do" mod when mine arrives!). Looks particularly nice on a black car.

Two thumbs up for the creativity!

KC... my car is Mineral Grey and has black rocker stripes. Red would look real good on your black car IMO. Especially if you get the "MUSTANG" lettering like shown in the pics I posted of the '65 GT. Make sure to post pics when you are all done so I can see what you decided to do.

I like the chrome on the taillights, it adds just enough contrast on the black.

Can you take a close up shot of just one taillight to see it better?

And the red on black would look great! I look forward to seeing more of your work on the next "beautiful day!"

Randy, it needs the fog lights, a spoiler, and it needs to lose the lettering on the hood. The grill is OK but I still don't like those rims either. Is this what your planning on doing??? I'm not trying to flame you, just giving you my opinion. I like the retro look of my stang, but it still needs some of the modern touches.

Hmmmmmmmmmm. I love that Kevin, haven't got around to doing it yet on mine, was hoping that one of the parts/accessories developers would do something up (properly formed) with a material like the 3m'd chrome edging that you can buy - especially for the tails. And if the pics on the TMS banner (the grill) are to be believed, Ford's up to something retro too.

And where the heck is your snow????? California isn't that far from here, what's goin on, this snow falling only in Ontario is a conspiracy or something

Mark.

Hey 05stangkc, how did you get it to curve around like that without any deformation?? I tried it with some pinstripe (chrome) and it started to bunch up.

Thanks

Matt

I really like the silver around the tails and the lines on the top/bottom in between, looks good in the pic. I don't think it would look good on any other color though. The grill supprisingly doesn't look bad, although it's a little much.

I generally hate silver trim pieces on cars, especially the plastic stuff some people put around their doors, and wheel well's and anywhere else they can stick it. But that doesn't look bad at all on the back.

Looks awesome!

I think the grille on the black car gets lost being so dark and that helps bring out the style. Nice job.

Use Silver Metallic the Chrome Tape will not flex enough!
