Just an Fyi,

Ford Had a Huge across the Board Price Increase on Many and I do mean Many OEM Ford Parts as of 01/01/09. It will take me Some time to Sort through and Update the Hotsheets and Hotsheet Forum. Prices can always be Verified Via Email or Phone. 1-800-570-5554. Just to Give you an Example. The Standard Leather 05-09 Iup Wheel Which used to list for $241.67 Now Lists for $464.12 this is the Most extreme one I have Found so far. It is not Pretty.

Hey KC, could you tell me what the GT/CS front bumper went up to? Just curious if it did go up or not?

Well ... since the current parts are now out of high-volume production for the assembly-line I am guessing all the replacement parts will go UP. Wonder if any parts will go obsolete and what is in inventory is all that is available?

That's what any company should do when they are going out of business, "RAISE PRICES"!

Back in the 90s, I remember when SVO head lights were fixing to be out of the catalog. Ford jacked the prices up over 50% one month... then dropped them like a rock the next month or so... then they were gone, not to be found. I heard tell that this was standard for Ford when they wanted to get rid of their stock and out of the system.

So... something tells me that we're not gonna get see many more 05-06 steering wheels listed...

/dunno if that's what's happening, but...

I take it KC is talking about the steering wheel with the chrome spokes - IUP. I replaced my '05 OEM wheel, not IUP with an IUP wheel for under $160 in October 05. Not good to raise prices that much.

That's about in line with what I paid for my white stripes last Fall. The black ones were cheaper, I bought them too so the car could be brought back to stock.

**** something tells me I better price the GT/CS rear bumper Monday. I was worried what would happen to the 05-09 parts with the 2010 coming in a few months.

I would Go to Ebay For the Engine Cover. Some Vendors will Still have the Items at Old Pricing.

You should have seen the increase on some items Sept 1st of 2008! I had an accident repair on an '03 GT here at the shop....and the drivers knees broke the dash....insurance priced the dash at $1965 and sent me the estimate dated 8/29 arriving to me on 9/3....and when I called to order parts the dash had a new price effective 9-1 of $2,988!!!!! That price increase would have totalled the car if the owner hadn't talked the insurance company and worked out a deal not to replace the dash and give him a $300 appearance allowance instead.

Prices are never cheaper than when a car is new....the older they get, the higher the price goes until it goes obsolete.

Just an FYI,

As Ford Loses Parts Suppliers they must locate a New Supplier and Retool. This can Cost Big Bucks. For Example a Lincoln LS Fuel Pump went up From $284.90 to $883.00 MSRP on my Last Price tape. Scary stuff and it could happen at any time.

Also I have noticed a Lot of Parts are simply obsoleted much sooner than the norm has been. I have seen some select 04 Mustang Parts go obsolete already so be advised! I also had to scrounge some 03 COBRA Parts that had gone obsolete as well Recently. It's simply a way for the manufacturer to cut costs wherever they can.

As Far as the 05 Up I know the Factory Cobra Floor Mats for the 07 GT-500 Red Appearance Package just got obsoleted. I am sure more is to come and will try and give a Heads up when I can.

Yeah that'll turn me away from Ford in a hurry. And I've been with em since 83. I vote with my checkbook and do NOT support gougers!

Actually that was not the point I was trying to make. The Other Car Manufacturers both Import and Domestic have the Same Issues as well. Especially hard hit is Chrysler which has been tossed around from One Owner to another. They are Obsoleting a lot of Older Parts as per a recent conversation with a Chrysler Parts Manager.

Realize Many Auto Manufacturers both Domestic and Import share Common Parts Suppliers or Vendors. Manufacturers are charged a certain Price for a part and have to pass on the Increase to the Dealer and End User. This is not Saying I like the Situation but merely want to pass on the Info.

Parts are never cheaper than when a car is new...as they age the prices go higher until they get obsoleted. A lot of times the suppliers raise prices due to increased costs or lower production runs for orders. I am sure there are a host of other reasons but this is not Ford only...EVERY mfg does this...so voting with your checkbook on this issue won't get you anywhere unfortunately.

Well not having to deal with foreign price gouging/US dollar stuff on parts is a key factor why I've stayed away from imports. If its no better with Ford, GM, then why should I avoid imports if its a worthy vehicle?
