Ford Accessory Cargo Organizer
blackhat97, if you need to see a copy of the instructions, I can try to scan it in and send it to you, or fax it to you tomorrow. It's at home, so no joy until tonight at the earliest.

blackhat97,
I lose my place all the time too. I think mine is the same as yours, just pictures. I still haven't gotten around to fixing mine, been really busy. I might have to do it this weekend though, since I'd like to have it for next weekend when I move.

jayguy,
Ok I spent some time with it and this is what I found out. I too ended up pulling off the plastic housing cover between the tail lamps and saw the holes in the metal where the brass pieces go. From the drawings it shows the brass pieces being inserted through the plastic housing into those holes with the cylinder end first and the flattened top facing out? This I thought was meant to snag the rim of the hole molded in the plastic and hold it in place? It works for passenger side but not the drivers as the hole molded in the plastic is too large. I thought about going to a hardware store and buying new brass pieces, same diameter for the thread but with a larger flattened head so it can snag onto the plastic molding and not slip through.
I'm gonna tackle it one way or the other this weekend, even if I have to buy double sided tape and tape the thing to the trunk floor.(j/k
).

Yeah, I thought the plastic holes were just too big. I got "Thread-serts" from True Value Hardware, but tried putting them on before I knew the metal was slightly angled. Luckily I bought 4 of them just in case.
The size is 8/32, in case you go looking for them. I took the threadded rod you use to install the brass pieces with me to get the right size.
If I ever get any free time, I'm going to try again. Hopefully it'll work right this time.

OK, mine's installed!! Right or wrong, it's in there and it took less than 5 minutes.
Jayguy, yeah I went to the hardware store with the threaded rod too and picked up two (2) t-nuts. I asked the guy what they were called as I've never seen them before and that's what he said. The threaded rod screws right into them.
Step 1: remove the rear panel between the taillights. Real easy. A flat head screw driver will unscrew the large plastic screws and then just pop out the two small plastic pieces by the latch.
Step 2: The t-nuts came with raised pieces on them which I flattened with a vice grip.
BEFORE:
[attachmentid=26234]
AFTER:
[attachmentid=26235]
Then insert them into the same holes meant for the brass pieces but since the cylinder portion is shorter they don't stay put by themselves. I cheated and used a piece of scotch tape to hold the t-nut in place until I could put back the trunk panel back as the trunk panel lines up flush against the t-nut thereby also holding it in place.
[attachmentid=26236]
Step 3: Put back the rear plastic panel removed in step 1.
Step 4: Insert the threaded rod through the organizer and then insert through the black tube acting as a spacer and screw into the t-nuts. Voila!
It holds firmly in place and I never used the "tool kit" which was supplied with it. So since I didn't use that wrench, nut , screw or brass pieces I skipped a step but this is easier, takes less time (5 minutes) and it holds just fine. Well, time will tell how well it holds I guess
KC (05StangKC), great organizer!
Jayguy, Thanks for your help!
