V8 Focus...and then some

Most of you probably know the Focus RS8, the European RS with the 15 grand Ford Racing 5.0 Cammer in it. Or the ATI Terminator Focus with the Cobra motor under the hood.

It's been out for awhile but I stumbled upon this video on youtube and thought it was pretty cool. I remember the company Kugel Komponents makes the Focus V8 conversion parts and would really like to do something of the same caliber.

My father has an '01 ZX3 that he "wants to trade when the time comes" but leans more and more toward the conversion.

What do you guys think of it? Fuel injected motors seem to be of choice. There was a seemingly stock yellow ZX3 on ebay with a 93 Cobra 302 in it. Seemingly if it fits it's pretty much good to go. Still looking into it...

Of course with the exception of the V8 rumble from the exhaust. No way to hide that. Which of course isn't a bad thing.

There isn't anything on an '08 up Focus though which I'm going to check. With the rising gas price I might have to part with my Vic (sad), and there's a nice '09 Coupe a few towns over.

This car was just for sale & I was considering it, but after reading this article I passed. Not a very well balanced car.

The new Focus ST should be a nice compromise between power & MPG.

Check out this link.

Kugel makes the full list of parts now. Seems they didn't have that luxury building theirs? It would be fun to toss the Aluminator 3-valve or even the new Coyote and toy around as much as possible with the weight distribution. As they said, they nearly had the stock handling with the older 5.0 in it, not bad at all.

The new ST though...well...(Home Simpson gurgling noise)

I would not bother to build one. I have posted many of them over time here that I seen on ebay for less then 10k. Its a cool idea but the cost of building on is very high. Just keep an eye on eye and like 10k at the ready.

True. Most of the times thinking of projects is for personal use rather than resale. Plus in a few years I'd like to open my own garage/performance shop and having some executable ideas on hand would be nice. Plus, it's not something you normally see. I like out of the ordinary
