The Pantera was designed by Tom Tjaarda working for an italian design company at the time I beleive and the GT40 was inspired by the Ferrari racers (same kind of look)

What a darn shame. Maybe someone will restore it one day to what it should be. I wish classics wouldn't fall into the hands of people that don't know what they're doing.
