This Rabid Ranger is More Mustang than You Think

What happens when you cross an out-of-production Ford Ranger and a brand-new Coyote motor? Awesomeness!

This, my friends, isn't your everyday normal 2011 Ford Ranger. No, this is the Rabid Edition. It still has two doors, a bit of ride height, and a bed to throw all your tools and crap in the back. And because why the hell not, it also has a brand-new Coyote motor!

What happens when you cross an out-of-production Ford Ranger and a brand-new Coyote motor? Awesomeness!

This, my friends, isn’t your everyday normal 2011 Ford Ranger. No, this is the Rabid Edition. It still has two doors, a bit of ride height, and a bed to throw all your tools and crap in the back. And because why the hell not, it also has a brand-new Coyote motor!

The seller says that it was picked up on a trade, and when they turned it in, the original person who built it had over $20,000 in receipts from the conversion. But does that really matter? I think not. What matters is that the exterior is stock. The interior is stock, minus a 6-speed manual transmission coming out of the floor. And the only way you would know that this truck has been heavily modified is by lifting up the hood. It is the ultimate sleeper truck.

I’m very fond of sleepers. Anyone can have a hey-look-at-me-and-my-supercar, or Porsche that’s already built to go fast. But it’s when you have something no one, and I mean no one expects to haul *** and then proceed to blow everyone’s doors off, it makes for one of the best feelings in the world.
The dealer wanted $26,987 at the time of sale just a few days ago. Sure, that’s a bit much for any type of Ranger, Coyote motor and all, especially when you can pick up a Mustang for about $5k cheaper of the same year. But you need to weigh the benefits of having this baby in your garage versus that cost. Seeing as this Mustang with a bed sold rather quickly, it appears the new owner appreciates this truck’s value as much as we do.
