Powerstroke forums?
Hey guys, I am about to purchase a 2000 powerstroke. I really have a lot of questions, but I haven't really been able to get them answered. I joined Powerstroke.org, but either I am not looking in the right spots or the "org" isn't like here.
Any suggestions?

http://www.thedieselstop.com has always been a good source of PSD info.
I am looking to purchase a 2000 2WD F350 PSD Dually cab and chassis with a 12ft cube on it for roughly $2000. It has 334,000 miles on it and has been maintained quite well(Oil changes every 3000 miles and such). The tranny was rebuilt in May and only has about 13,000 miles on it. The last time it went in for service to replace switch for overdrive, it came back leaking oil like a sieve. Took it back, fixed that but now it smokes. They think its the turbo, so they have a new one for it.
My plan is to pull the cube(use it as a storage shed) and make it into a flatbed for personal driving. I thought about switching the reg cab to a crew, but that looks to be cost prohibitive. So I am probably going to make a custom sleeper cab to attach to the reg cab and still have an 8ft flat bed. I only want the extra room to haul my dog and hunting or sports equipment, but hauling friends would be nice too. Thought about a conversion van rear seat that turns into a bed.
My dilemma is whether or not it would be feasible and if I can accomplish a few modifications in the future, like 4wd swap(I have 2 ft of snow outside my door right now), interior upgrades('08 dash and door panels with pwr window and locks and better seats
).
None of those things NEED to be done, but it would be nice.
Looking for advice on flatbed designs(size, materials, weight). I don't currently haul anything, but would like to purchase some toys eventually. Fifth wheel, std. hitch, gooseneck, I don't know? What does everyone think?

PM sent
Well, I finally pulled the trigger. I paid $1800. It does need two new tires, but after driving it for over an hour, it doesn't smoke! My brother thinks they might of had some oil in the boost tubes after replacing the turbo pedestal gasket. I will still get the extra turbo with it.
Next thing I'm going to do, is standard replacement of all fluids and start preparing for mods!
Thanks everyone for the suggestions and links.
