[?]Police Car sales (compared to "Crown Vic" times)
Hello,
I was just wondering, how police car sales (and perhaps taxi sales) has developed for Ford since the departure od the Cronw Vitoria sedan.
Have you any numbers?
The question behind this,: Was is smart from Ford to "axe" the Crown Vic (because police sations buy now Tauruses, Explorers or other Ford Cars) or did Ford lost Sales to other Brands (e.g. Dodge) since the stopped the Crown Vic sedan?
If the latter had happened, do you think it would have been better for Ford to "modernize" the Crown Vi with, let's say an contemporary 6-Speed Automatic transmission, and an further development of the 4,6l V8 (perhaps 3- or 4 valve application), the Coyote 5,0L V8 or (my personal favorite) an Diesel Engine (the 3,2l from the Transit for example or - even better - the 3,0L V6 Diesel that Ford produced and now be found in Jaguars and Land Rovers)
