Motor Trend TOTY
#2
Given motor trend's recent history, it should be in the top 3, a toss up between the all new f-150, all-new dodge, and probably the worst of the bunch the car-based Ridgeline. I'm gonna say they pick the dodge because of its "smooth" ride inovations and it has more power than ford. But I really don't know.
All I know if it was Car and Driver they would some how give it to a BMW 3 series.

Well, GM's shuttering Hummer so they probably didn't waste money on a bribe. I think Ford cut back on their bribe money to get back towards profitability, and Cerebus is too incompetent to bribe the right people. So it's either Toyota running away with it or they'll be forced to actually pick on merits. Wonder if they remember how?

Well, if they actually do REAL TESTS, like they should do, the F150 should win. Autoweek just reviewed one and loved it. The ride was really impressive to them, but the quietness was the X-Factor. Totally silent interior while driving.

Yeah, from all the reviews I've read, both the 2009 F150 and Dodge Ram are very impressive, very capable trucks. Even though the Ford is a bit lagging in terms of power compared to the competition, I recall reading somewhere that, because of the 6-speed transmission, it felt much quicker off-the-line than the '09 Ram with its Hemi and 5-speed automatic transmission.
You guys are right, though. It'll probably wind up being the Toyota Tundra or the Honda Ridgeline... yet another reason why I didn't bother renewing my subscription.

Neither the Tundra or Ridgeline can win because they aren't new vehicles. The entrants are the Suzuki Equator (re-badged/restyled Nissan Frontier), Dodge Ram, Ford F-150, and Hummer H3T. Out of that field the only model which has a glimmer of hope besides the F-150 is the Ram. Look for a Ford win here.

judging by that pic...i say it either wins or gets 2nd

I know the 6 speed auto in my Expedition really helps get it off the line. O r at least feel like it. Well that and the 4.10 gears.
If there's anyway possible for Motor Trend to give it to another truck it will. Maybe they'll like the coil springs in the Dodge. Especially since no one ever hauls anything in the back of a pickup.

F-150 finished in front of Ram in newest Motor Trend's comparison (F-150 finished 2nd, behind Silverado, and ram finished 4th) so I hope they will name it TOTY since Ram is F-150's only competition.

I hate the Silverados. That big giant rear wheel well looks stupid with little bity tires in there. Plus the offset on the wheels looks stupid. Looks like the axles are too short or the offset is wrong on the base wheels. Look at one sometime, the rear track width looks stupid.

But they do offer 6.2L 403 hp engine.
Ford really should hurry with 6.2L Boss. Since 5.4L 310 hp is the weakest engine in its class. Even Nissan is offering more powerful 5.6L in Titan.
