Mercedes-Benz and its parent company Daimler are more than capable of building technologically advanced engines, but the automaker is admiring a powerplant built by Ford. Taking note of the blue oval’s turbocharged, direct-injected 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine, Mercedes is now partnering with Ford to learn more about the tiny mill.
