Love the Beast, My nickle review
Ok I've just got done watching Love the Beast.
This movie is absolutly awesome!
I was never really an Eric Bana fan..Man I've had him all wrong..he's not an actor he's a car guy..acting is just a side line for what he really loves.
Mucho Respect Mr. Bana!.
If you have not seen it I highly recommend it and if you have a loved one or someone that doesn't get your fascination with that car you love have them watch it too because it will put it all into perspective.
Such a good movie I really can't say enough about it!
I really can't say too much without going into spioler teritory.. I knew what the deal wqas going in and it was so much more than what i thought it was going to be.

I so want to see this movie so bad. I feel the exactly same way about Eric Bana as you did before the movie.

Gary - I don't think it has been "offically" released in the USA. Though there are copies floating around (ebay, etc.) Let us know if you find it!!

No scheduled US release date yet, and the UK release isn't even until November 13th.
Australia movie release was 3/12/09
New Zealand movie release was 6/4/09

I saw an advance screening for this yesterday (8/3/09) and surprisingly, I throughly enjoyed it. Eric Bana has constructed an entertaining and enjoyable look at his personal love affair with his first car (a 1974 Ford GT Falcon Coupe), the first car he ever bought as a teenager. The documentary extends beyond just any old "Car Flick", to focus on why we all have our obsessions and hobbies and the roles they play in our lives. You don't have to be a rev head to enjoy this and thats the point, as an interesting study of obsession and an insight to the private life of one of Australias best loved actors, this is definitely worth a look.

Glad to hear its as good as it looks. Been resisting the temptation to DL it, but if the US release gets put off much more I'm just gonna throw in the towel,

Almost missed it, crazy that they didn't advertise it more. Even crazier that I STILL can't find a region 1 DVD release date.
LOVED it. Extremely well done, and I found myself pissed every time a commercial stopped the action. I especially loved Leno and Clarkson talking about why the car crashed ("are you mad?") and encouraging him to rebuild it. I even found Dr. Phil tolerable, surprisingly.

I too loved it. I watched it with my daughters so maybe they'd have a little understanding of what it is to love a car. Clarkson stole the show IMO. Bana was good. Surprisingly. I have a much higher opinion of him now.
