HOT ****!!!

Bring them both!! They are different but recognizable for what they are, a Lincoln and a Jaguar.

I'm going to move this to 'Other Fords' but I'll leave a link for a few days.

Topnotch - are you trying to tell us that's the front end of the forthcoming '08 Bullitt with your avatar? Is it a rendering, or an actual photo someone snuck out? You're such a tease!

On to that Lincoln concept. Looks good, but does it have a hope in Hades of actually being built...and looking anything remotely like that? And if they do, will it be up to par?

Not really feelin' the Jag though. Looks like a more "blockish" version of the Iosis.

Man thats awesome... I love that ford is toying with turbos..

I love Ford...I love Turbos...

I was really hoping this concept would be more production looking...i'm sad to see it look like a concept car in everyway...casue we know that there will be tons of changes if they do a production version.

everything about this car (the lincoln) is pure concept. if it were to ever get produced i would bet it looks drastically different. If i had to guess this was produced to to bring the crowds over to the lincoln display to show off their other new cars....mks.....

as for the jag.......****

Looks like grill design was inspired by the 1940 Lincoln Zephyr:

Did you notice the RX8 style rear doors in the 2nd picture of the concept?

I think that might be a perception created by the crease in the center of the picture where the two pages meet and not an actualy indication of clamshell doors. Hopefully I am correct and there are no RX8 clamshell doors here, especially in light of how poorly they have done on the RX8, a car which never met Mazda's sales expectations.

I think that had less to do with the clamshell doors than to do with the problematic nature of the rotary engine.

From what I've read in C&D, the RX8 is the first rotary hybrid I've heard of. It burns gas and oil.

I think it has far more to do with styling which is more hate it than love it, caused partially by the ridiclous 2+2/clamshell door design, and weak acceleration. Turbo the RX8's Renesis rotary and morph the ridiculous looking RX8 into an appropriate RX7 and they would sell twice as many even if they asked 10k more per unit. And given the sheetmetal they'd save in production of the smaller car I'd bet it wouldn't cost any more to build than the RX8 does.

And this reminds me a bit of the GTO issue to be honest. We had a slew of people who couldn't wait for the RX8 on the net, all of whom nay-sayed those who lamented the lack of FI and the addition of the ridiculous clamshell doors, but very few of whom apparently ever intended to buy the car. Sorry, couldn't resist.

The RX8 was a bad idea from the start, and not because of the Renesis rotary which has thus far proven to work just fine.

I think you better go back and check your facts on that one. The Renesis has most definitely NOT "worked just fine."
