I wonder if Ford has this just sitting and collecting dust somewhere or if a private collector has it

You are right, its collecting dust in Jack Roush's private collection. Check out the video of Jack talking about it.

This is a good example of why Coletti was forced out. Rather than developing a vehicle for production, he comissioned something as a one-off that he could take to the Car mags. Just like the Super Stallion or the 700hp Cobra. Thats where Coletti and Ford's white collars clashed: he was interested in bragging rights and headlines, they wanted cars that they could sell in volume to the consumer.
It's a great car, no argument, but in the end its just like all the Concept cars Ford's built and never produced: it just didn't do anything for the Company.

I guess its just that it looks weird to me because all the guys are doin their quarters in 11-13 sec @ 100-110 mph. Just looks weird to me for some reason...I don't know
I believe somebody slipped a digit. My recollection is that the engine is 504 CID, not the 604 CID listed on the link, making it 8-1/4L.
The car was in a C&D article where the Boss Mustang was matched against a "510 CID" Camaro. After the article was written C&D found out that GM lied about the engine in the Camaro. Both cars were supposed to have factory muscle car engines from the old days. In reality, the Camaro had an aftermarket engine based on the Chevy 427 architecture and it was considerbly larger than 510 CID. In spite of the GM boys cheating IIRC the Mustang won the drag race anyway.
