Good deal ... or not?

Ok, here is my story.
I went to test drive a 2012 Focus SE hatchback on Saturday and I love it. It's pretty much a base model other than having a package called "winter" I believe. So the MSRP is just under $20,000 and dealer is giving me the final price of $18,500.
They're also giving me $11,500 for my 2005 F-150 SuperCab 4x4 4.6L with 21,000 miles on the odometer. KBB values it at $13,800, but with the economy being the way it is (and with so many F-150s out on sale already) I don't think I would get more for it if I try to sell it privately (if I could sell it at all).

So ... if you were in my position what would you do? As much as I like F-150 I rarely drive it because of very poor fuel economy, I usually drive my Mustang (which is not much better when it comes to fuel economy). And because of my job I drive a lot so Focus' fuel economy would definitely be a plus.
I guess it's one of those cases where I want something new, but I'm not willing to let the old go.

Hm ... decisions, decisions.

I actually like the new Honda crz, its in the same general price range as well. Unless youre getting the focus because of family needs, I would look into that.

I never drove CR-Z, but on Saturday I drove 2012 Ford Fiesta and didn't like it much. It's small and it's also very underpowered, there's barely any power under 3,000 RPM. Not a fan of that, I'm used to high torque at low RPMs.
I'm guessing CR-Z is pretty similar, 122 hp and it's smaller than Fiesta (and no back seat). Plus, it's not really that economical for a hybrid (31/36 mpg).

I also test drove 2012 Honda Civic coupe. Nice car, but not as good as Focus.

Dealers around me are taking $3k off the new Focus, and $6k off 2012 Fusions.
I'd tell them to either give you more for your truck or drop the price of the Focus.

I think the focus price is reasonable but I would want another $1000 on the trade.

If it were me, I'd see if I could squeeze another grand out of the dealer either on the trade or the bottom line but ultimately I'd go for it either way. Maybe not the perfect deal, but if you like the Focus and are ready to part with the F-150 it's close enough.

I'm planing to take my F-150 to the Honda dealership next Saturday to see how much they would give me for the trade it. I like Focus better than Civic, but Civic is $1,500 cheaper and has a better reliability and re-sale value. And if I could get more for my F-150 than Ford is offering me, I might actually buy a Civic.

Nope, just a base Civic coupe. 1.8L 140 hp.

For a base MSRP of $22,000+, I think Civic Si coupe is just too expensive for what's offering. I would rather add another $1,500 and get a Mustang V6.
