i suppose this kinda belongs in automotive art, but I like talking about the SVT Fusion. They're saying Ford's plan is to wait until interest in the regular fusion starts to wain before they release an SVT version. Well that sounds kinda crappy... definitely not the attitude they had with the Stang, and Chrysler's definitely playing it differently with the SRT line. But maybe this ain't so bad. First of all, there's still hope we'd get an ST version sooner than that. I'm thinking maybe a slightly quicker 3.0 V6, maybe even the 3.5, with a stick shift.
But also... I wonder if maybe they've got stuff up their sleeves. Maybe they're like, poo... we shouldn't start talking about the SVT version just yet, cause its gonna be so sweet that everyone will wait until that comes out and sales of the regular fusion will tank. That's kinda what Jaguar's been doing with the XK. They've still been advertising the 06 XK8 a lot, I'm surprised at how little i've seen about the upcoming new one, thinking Jag should be showing that thing off already. But according to what i've read both from Top Gear and EVO, they've been trying real hard to keep the next XK under wraps just in case they can still find some people willing to buy the current one.

So maybe they've already got a turbo'd 3.0 V6 AWD fusion running around, something to test on until they've got a 3.5 litre engine ready for turbocharging, which as we know will be pretty soon.

I like the look of the front bumper but it still needs fog lights. I don't like the fender flares at all though. It looks like a F/S F-150 almost and just makes the car look too wide and takes away from the angular look of the car.

I agree about the fender flares. They make it look like a Scion xB or something! It messes with the lines too much. But it is a chop and not a concept. I would expect the SVT in a few years as a '08 model, but who knows. By then I'll have my Accord paid off and ready for something more sporty!

Ditto, the fender flares are too overdone, definitely a case of less being more.
