According to Automotive News, we're getting a big list of Euro-Ford based cars in the near future. The Fiesta will slot in under the Focus, and will share a new platform with Mazda. Also on the Fiesta's underpinnings could be a small crossover or minivan. The Euro Focus will finally get here in 2011, when the next generation drops. 2012 will bring the C-Max, a Mazda 5-ish people mover. The Fusion moves to the EUCD platform, though we hope it doesn't grow too much, lose its joyous demeanor, or come up short on fuel economy. It looks like Ford's going to try to stack the B, C, and D segments with sedans and MPV-type offerings, as well as seriously tweaking all of its offerings to match the new and looming reality.

20 years ago FMC had a seven car lineup (Festiva, Escort, Tempo, Taurus, Thunderbird, Mustang and Crown Victoris) and many were first in class. I look forward to a full 'car' lineup from FMC in the near future and hope FMC is able to repeat there past success.

 

Full size cars are not worth the effort, even Toyota is canceling Avalon.

I've seen many European Fords over the past month and one that I really liked was a Galaxy.

 

Full size car will stick around for a while. They do serve a purpose. And while Toyota may be cancelling the Avalon they are going to make a Camry "long."

 

I'm all for bringing over the Euro vehicles, but the trouble with that above vehicle is that I don't see how it's needed over here with the Edge and Flex in the lineup.

 

I'm pretty sure it would've been cheaper to bring Galaxy to the USA than to develop Flex.
Galaxy looks a lot better than Flex.

Well, sure. But they should just pick ONE and go with it. There's SOOOOOOOOOOOO much overlap in Ford's SUV/CUV/miniwagon lineup...and now they're working on a luxury SUV (Lincoln MKT), which to me seems like massive redundancy in a market segment that is shrinking faster than a pair of ********* in a freezer.
