Yeah, I almost got stuck. Mine (97 T-Bird) cracked and I turned it over to my uncle to fix. He was chatting with another guy who mentioned the "un-notified recall" a few years ago. So I turned it over to the dealer and they fixed it for free.

Mine cracked in my 96 Tbird, like literally 6 months before the extended warranty was about to expire. I don't see anything new in this story though. They always gave you a 7 yr extended warranty on that part. Some people were just ignorant to it, or didnt read their mail, or whatever. They still wont replace it if it hasnt broken yet, so most people will still be SOL when it breaks in year 8. Typical Ford BS, that's why they are in trouble.
