Ford shoots for 100,000 Flex sales a year
CUV sales have been strong over the last year, and Ford and Farley believe that the Flex could rack up 100,000 sales annually if the trend continues.

Is it just me or does that number sound really high?
I think 60,000-80,000 in a first year is more realistic.

There's downsides to low-balling their figures as well, especially with Wall Street scrutiny. If they're pretty confident they can sell 100K, they're best served saying so.

The suggested MSRP for the Flex is on the high-end for CUV's. I'd think that 60-80000 is a reasonable number
Can't wait to see the commercials for it though. Starting MSRP at 29xxx.
in small print at the bottom of the screen barely legible - as shown 39xxx.

The current pricing is definately going to hold back the volume, at least until the rebates cut in.
A similarly equipped Taurus X is almost $6000 cheaper (with the now standard and expected rebate).
It's unfortunate that artificially high pricing and rebates ony end up ripping off the early adopters who really should be rewarded for taking the risk in buying a new vehicle when it first comes out.

It would be nice if Ford could meet that target, but IMO - they won't. It's no Mustang. Don't know how many Mini owners wanting something bigger than the Clubman it may woo into buying... =)
