The comment about him quickly returning to Ford NA makes me wonder if he's being groomed to be Ford's NA product Czar...

Well, to get any real experience he would need to hold the post for at least 24 months. At that point, if Ford hasn't turned things around it will be too late to worry about grooming new product czars.

If any have doubts with Hau, let me put them to rest. He's a TRUE car guy. I met him last year at the All-Ford Nationals at Carlisle. He was scoping out all the modified S-197 Mustang on the field (including mine, what a thrill), and he knows his stuff. I know he will do wonders when he comes back to the NA Operations.

Well, no actually. Becuase Ford's biggest historical problem is that they get complacent once they're out of the woods. True, the products which will determine Ford's immediate fate are already in the Pipeline, but beyond that immediate fate there's still business to be done. Ford has to plan beyond 2010 even if they don't know whether they'll be around then.

Ford's been complacent in the woods, never mind being out of the woods.
