- Honda and Subaru remain at the head of the class, but Ford posted the biggest improvement among automakers in terms of road-test and reliability scores, says Consumer Reports' annual Automakers Report Card for 2011.
- BMW got slapped for "terrible reliability," while Chrysler came in last in the class.
- The 2011 Ford Mustang, 2011 Hyundai Elantra and 2011 Toyota Prius were among the 2011 Top Picks by the consumer watchdog.

Ford Reports February 2011 Sales Increase of 14 Percent Despite Lincoln Loss
Ford brand sales were up 22 percent in February, year-over-year, with a total of 150,678 vehicles delivered. Car sales barely topped truck sales for the month, with the rear brought up by crossovervehicles. Ford’s new Fiesta had its best sales month ever, with 6270 examples sold, while the Ford Fusion also set a monthly sales record at 23,111 cars sold. The F-Series truck line sold 37,549 copies in February, up 14 percent on the year and retail sales of Ford’s Explorer shot up 268 percent, as can be expected given the all-new model. Mustang sales, however, fell by a significant 27.7 percent.
