http://wot.motortrend.com/ford-perfo...rt-184699.html
Ford performance director will become the director Volkswagen Motorsport effective May 1, replacing current director Kris Nissen. Capito currently serves as Ford’s director of global performance vehicles, and is responsible for both the American Special Vehicles Team (SVT) and the European Team RS divisions. Also shifting places is Amko Leenarts, who previously worked in Peugeot’s interior design department and will now lead Ford interior development.
Capito worked at BMW as an engine development engineer from 1984, and in 1989 joined Porsche to oversee the company’s racing efforts. From 1996 he worked for the Sauber Petronas Engineering Formula 1 team, before joining Ford of Europe in 2001. Capito’s credits working for Ford include development of World Rally Championship cars, as well as the launch of the European-market Fiesta ST, Focus ST, and Focus RS road cars.
In January 2009, Capito became Ford global performance vehicles director. He combined the development efforts of SVT and Team RS, and subsequently helped develop the F-150 SVT Raptor and the upcoming Ford Focus ST.
As for the other shift, Leenarts was appointed to lead interior design strategy for Ford, where he will oversee interiors for Ford and Lincoln from the company’s studio in Merkenich, Germany. The 12-year veteran from Peugeot highlights the Peugeot Hx1 concept as one his team’s proudest accomplishments.
