Fiesta may change name to...
Genesis, Isis, Phoenix or Cuga?

Just-auto.com reports that Ford has investigated three new names and registered a fourth. Genesis, Isis and Phoenix are already being checked for any prior claims by other companies. We suspect Hyundai might have something to say about who owns the "Genesis" badge. The name Cuga, meanwhile, has actually been registered by Ford, though we're not sure if it reserves the name for the new Fiesta or just to prevent other companies from using it and detracting from the Cougar name, which is also a revered name owned by Ford.

they should....Fiesta kinda has a negetive conotation to what the fiesta used to be...plus it may not be politaically correct this day in age either...
How about... Factor, Fision,
or funny ones...Frog, Elf,

Needs to be more Astony
I wonder how much there names cost to register. I think I am going to register every name that isn't taken by a car company already and then next model a company wants to make will have to buy the name from me.

What's wrong with Fiesta? Don't get any negative vibes from the name at all. Hard to understand Ford... but you know, if they called it a "Phoenix", they could put a big "flaming bird" graphic on the hood! Save "Cuga" for a Mercury version.

That could possibly be the most 'ghetto' name in the history of automotive monikers. Phoenix is okay but Isis is a just a bit weird, of course it would appeal to the all important 'Stargate' segment of the buying public. Come to think of it, does somebody at FoMoCo have a thing for ancient Egypt? First the Ka and now, potentially, this? Whats next? An 'Osiris' crossover and a sports car called the 'Sobek'?
While I think the F naming strategy was ridiculous, I do think there is one that fits this car well. I kinda like Firefly...even if GM did use it on a car in Canada once. Of course it might be prudent to mention that I don't like the Fiesta nameplate. I've always loved the cars but thought think the name is just silly. So I don't mind a replacement name.

So Ford wants to use Phoenix name ... again.
There's a funny story about Ford wanting to use Phoenix name on Fairmont. However, at that time, there was already car named Phoenix build by Pontiac. When one guy suggested to call car Phoenix, but spell it with F instead of Ph, other guy suggested "Let's call him F***, but spell with with Ph. Of course, we wouldn't be able to do radio or TV advertising."

I personally just don't like the name Fiesta. It sounds cheap and nasty. Don't know why I guess cuz I immediately relate it to Taco Bell/Del Taco. It's tasty, but I think of their interiors *shiver* not a very pretty sight.
Fiesta...hmmm
