the new Ford Escape and Explorer are amazing! I blame the fiesta sales on the missed price point and the huge rebates on the Focus($1500). Ford needs to drop the fiesta to $14500 real world sticker price and bump the focus up by $500. I was at two ford dealers this weekend and both had no fiestas cheaper then $17800 and they had a line of foci's in the $16900 range.. doesnt make sense.

Fiesta sedan starts at $13,200. Focus sedan starts at $16,200.
Fiesta hatchback starts at $14,200. Focus hatchback starts at $19,200.
That's actually a pretty big price difference, especially for hatchbacks.
The only problem is - it's pretty hard to find a base Fiesta at dealerships, since Ford doesn't make much money on base cheap models.
I was looking at Fiestas before buying Honda Fit and it was pretty much impossible to find one under ~$18,000. Even sedans were impossible to find for under $16,500.

The ford dealers I was at had 6 fiesta over $21,500 plus dealer adds(tint, paint stuff and so on). The had a line of focussedans and hatchs all cheaper without the rebates.

not to mention that the fiesta feels WAY cheaper than a Focus. A Focus feels like an expensive car, fiesta does not. The cheap red gauges have got to go. Just make it a mini focus with the 1.0 ecoboost and be done with it.
