Bought an 08 edge. Sitting on the dealers lot with only 160 miles on it. It now has 3000 and the check brake fluid message went on. Checked it and the resivour was mostly empty. Filled it and drove it for a week and it was down a little again. Plus the oil looked burnt and was down a half a quart yet it was changed the day i picked it up. Has anyone had these or other problems with thir Edge?

 

You must have a brake line leak somewhere, no way it should be low with only 3K miles on it. The brake system is completely sealed and you shouldn't lose any fluid. As the brakes wear, the level in the reservoir will drop slightly...but that only happens when it is getting close to time to change the brake pads. They should be good for like 30-80K miles depending on how you drive. Should not need to add any brake fluid...really ever. Take it back to the dealer and they should be able to find the problem.

As far as the oil, define looking burnt. Is it just getting dark, or is it like tar?
