YES!!!! BRONCO!!!!!
however, I am NOT so thrilled about the Ranger/F100 getting bigger. Every truck, even the small ones, have gotten larger as of late. What about all the people that just barely need a bed to haul stuff, and are ok with a tiny truck with a small economical engine.. By Moving the Ranger up to midsize, we aleinate alot of customers.
I know, its not raelly a ranger anymore, its "F100" which by itself would be cool. Its a cooler, better sportrac. The only problem is that this is a replacement for the Ranger :

I'm pretty sure the F-100 isn't the real replacement for the ranger. At the end of the article it says after a few years they are planning on bringing the Global "T6" Ranger to the U.S. The T6 is devloped by Ford Australia and it's supposed to be the same size or smaller than the current ranger.

Not sure how the F100 will do with the new Ranger and F150s as its book-ends. Kudos on the bronco though! I may look for a Bronco as my daily driver in 2011! I'd have a badass little offroader next to my badass Mustang GT!!

The Lightning Bolt Ranger was such a mean looking truck. As much as I like the Lightning, I do hope the new "global Ranger" will have enough room to shoehorn a Ford V8 under the hood... (whisper - SVT...)

Sexiness of the Lightning Bolt aside, the TT V6 is likely the best we'll ever see in the T6 Ranger SE. The regular engines will likely be the N/A and TT I4 with a V6 (possibly diesel) option.

They've got the truck lineup down pat. Given the current climate of high gas prices/stricter fuel economy standards the F100 makes perfect sense as a more fuel efficient compliment to the F150. Ford had considered and shelved this ideas several times before for fear that such a truck would cannibalize F150 sales possibly knocking that truck off of it's best seller perch. But, IMO, overall sales and profitability are more important and a truck like the F100 is needed. Even better, the F Series nomenclature and platform relationship will be immensely helpful giving this truck instant credibility. TGDi V6 and 5.0L V8 engines should both propel this truck down the road nicely while returning good fuel economy.
Also I am thrilled beyond measure that they have decided to forego strapping the Bronco badge on a Fiesta-based cute-ute. A solid front and rear axle Bronco with locking diffs galore combined with the upcoming F150 Raptor should make for an imposing pair of off road vehicles. Personally, I get chills thinking about the possibility of a new age take on the original Bronco concept with an Eddie Bauer package on it....who needs Land Rover? Give me a dark blue, Eddie Bauer Bronco with a 4.4L TDi V8 or 5.0L GDi V8, three locking diffs and a set of after-market portal axles (assuming Ford doesn't offer these from the factory, which would likely send me into convulsions) and I'll be in my own little piece of truck heaven.

Good to see some development and long needed attention. Honestly, who doesn't update the basic body of a vehicle for 25 years.... The pure existence of the ranger as a long time good seller should have already told them there was a market for this truck that wouldn't hurt F-150 sales in the first place. I'm glad to see that economic pressure has put some actual development back into the company. I'd really like to see Ford continue and try to push the boundaries a bit more in the way of automotive design instead of letting the europeans and japanese take the reputation for it.
I think the move back to a bronco, a real bronco and not some "you void the warranty by taking this vehicle (which appears to be an off-road vehicle) off a paved surface" SUV is tremendously reassuring. Ford doing what Ford really knows well, and can demonstratively do better than most. It's too bad that people who actually like ORV's (yes, I grew up when they called them that) have had to deal with such a glut of over-inflated, non-tough, non-truck posers for so long. Let the era of the glorified family truckster-SUV-on-a-car-chassis be replaced with some actual trucks!

Bronco if they do it right will be in my future for sure. I was begining to look at new Jeep Wrangler but the engine is like 202 hp in a 4300 lb. vehicle. What a joke. Then I was thinking old Bronco as a project. Early to mid 90's. I would have given my left nut for one of these back then. My dad had a '81 Bronco with a 351. He put in a 3/4 racing cam and full dual exhaust. It would outrun our '82 Trans Am. A new Bronco sounds awesome!

I never understood why ford discontinued the Bronco. It was insanity. Did they really think the Explorer was a worthy predecessor? Please! I traded my 87' full size Bronco in on my F150 in 03' and boy do I miss it, It was a capable off roader but was smooth and solid on the highway as well. If they can do it right I guarantee you it'll sell.

i wish i could have had my dads full size 79 bronco...last of the solid axle before the TTB front suspension...400 big block, intake, cam, heads, headers, dual exhaust, 2H-4H-2L-4L transfer case...it would litteraly pull wheelies with 35 inch boggers and 6 inches of lift in 2L...omg i loved that thing
