I love Ford's of every kind, some of which are virtually unknown on our side of the pond, and thought it might be interesting to create a thread where I can post pics of a couple of the models that are of particular interest of me while providing an opportunity for other members whose Ford-itus has advanced to such a level that they too seek out obscure Ford's an opportunity to do the same. Here are two of my favorites.

First up is a 'Ford' ISO Coupe, this particular car is a 20M TS model from 1968. The ISO coupes wore Italian styling on a Taunus chassis and packed a small V6 under the hood. Technically this car is an ISO but there was an affiliation with Ford. Interesting aside, before the Capri became Europe's take on the Mustang this was Europe's Mustang...seriously. As best as I can tell think of the relationship in the early 70's between Ford and DeTomaso and your wont be too far off the mark. I think they look a bit like a cross between a Jensen Interceptor and an Aston Martin DBS but what do I know.


Next up is a Ford Comete' Monte Carlo from Ford's defunct French arm. IMO this is one of the most beautiful cars built in the fifties by anyone anywhere. The fact that the car owes it's styling to Facel certainly doesn't hurt, which explains the slight resemblence to some of the Chrysler letter cars. (IMHO the Comete is much more lithe and sleek, probably a purer statment of the Facel vision too) The Comete packs Flathead power in standard trim. There was a standard, non Monte-Carlo Comete as well but it isn't quite so sweet. This and a 55 T-bird would make for a sweet looking pair to park in a garage and show that Ford was onto something in the 50's.

Of course, both of these look like they need some FE power to me.

I've always had a thing for these Escorts, ever since I was younger and visited Australia for the first time. Bought me a Euro Ford mag and I've loved em ever since

ISO created some beautiful and cool automobiles, and they also utilized Chevy engines for many of there autos as well.

The Comete is a beautiful and outstanding little car.

this says alpine on the fender but i know there are some " tigers " in huntsville .. i know of two sunbeans near me i will put in the cars in barns thread soon

BTW my mom had Tiger and a regualer Sunbeam I vaguely remeber riding in it when i was little.

The OSI 20M TS is indeed a very beautiful car.

But it's OSI not ISO :-)
OSI is short for: Officine Stampaggi Industriali. The Italian firm who build the car for Ford Germany in 1967-1968.


I'm a proud owner of a few OSI's. We are restoring one at the moment.
