405hp Cobra Sedan!
(just kidding, of course). As far as a Goat clone . . . the same could be said in reverse. The previous generation Holden Commodore's and Falcons due share relative shape, form, and function (however, no 2-door Factory Falcons.)
Exhibit 27 that Ford Australia has it's schmidt far more together than Ford N.A. and makes way cooler cars.
Just WHY isn't that motor currently sitting in a Mustang Mach I?
Why isn't a high revving 4V DOHC 4.6 motor not lashed to a tight six speed and feeding power to the twisties through a Control Blade suspension in a Mustang Boss 460?
Why isn't aren't both those Cobras on American showroom floors now?
I'm sure Ford N.A. has about three thousand mewling rationalizations and why the -- yawn -- Taurus and the -- snortle, snork, snore -- Fusion are oh so much better cars for us Yanks. Someone please send an month's production of Viagra and Red Bull to Ford corporate headquarters in Dearborn, STAT.

I seriously doubt it. The Falcon's sales are actually fleet heavy and meeting demand hasn't been a problem for some time now. My guess is that this is another 'late life' SE meant to prop up demand until the new model arrive and if there are any ADM's, they will be extremely short lived as best.
You guys dont want that engine, it uses the same block (and possibly heads??) as the GT500. Which brings up an interesting observation, people positively drool over the FPV cars with the Boss motors, but pitch a fit whenever somebody brings up the idea of using a cast iron 5.4 in the Mustang.

As for the incessant drooling over this mill, often by the same people who constantly criticize the GT500's powertrain, don't waste your time. There is a whole lot of 'if it came from somewhere else it is better than what we have wether it is actually better or not because everything we have sucks by default' syndrome running around these days.
If I am not mistaken the Australian 'Boss' series engines still employ an older DOHC design. To wit, a naturally aspirated version of the GT500's mill would almost certainly be superior to this since the GT/GT500 heads are the best Ford has yet produced for this motor.

I didn't know if they had updated the heads, I can't remeber if the OZ Boss motors used the R model Cobra head or a variation there of (seems to me the R model heads were expensive to machine IIRC)
Those are very nice. They aren't GTO clones they are GTO competition, and good ones at that. Just about all aussie cars have that same style. Just look at the holden line up for instance. Out of the performance line up just about all of them look the same. I'd ditch the rear wing but otherwise very nice.

Even if they look like their GM counterparts, Ford did it better.
