4-Door Aston, Volvo C30
Autoblog's got a great page full of spoilers for the detroit show.

They say this could see production by 2008, which is before the porsche 4-door panamera.

And this thing looks like it'll be a sweet hot hatch, Volvo C30:

ya, i'm gonna agree with that one. They're such a pure company, leave them alone with their 3 sweet cars and that's it. That 4-door, whether its a rendering or the real thing, just looks like a DB9 but not as good. I say put the money into the new S-Type.

even though I like the looks I gotta agree leave the aston along.
I could however see them do something like the 612 with a nice large backseat but as a 2 door

Ya, that'd be cool... I'd even accept a RX-8 style suicide door thing.
About the Volvo, i like it but i find the bottoms of the tail lights a bit too chubby. I like the overall size and shape of the thing, though the colour combo's a little weird eh?

I love the look of the Volvo. Very sporty. I also like the low liftover height of the rear hatch, always a good idea. But I do agree with you Jeff that the lights look a bit too chubby.
B-man, think you may be able to play with that and give us a cleaner look?

That is a very poor chop of the Aston. Imagine how long that wheel base will have to be to keep those proportions! Just becuase Porsche does something, doesn't mean Aston should as well. What's next an AM SUV?
I am also not sure I get the Volvo hatch thing. Maybe for Europe, but here in the US? Who would buy it? Volvo has a looooong way to go to be considered by a younger crowd, and they are the only ones I see interested in a 3-door hatch.

okay, i don't think it is a chop anymore, there are some more pics and info on the top gear site:

The thing is 5 meters long, as long as an S-class or a Quattroporte. It has a lot of luggage space under a HATCH - sweet! i like hatches. The dude says there'd be space, if you put the back seats down, for two 6-footers to lie down and have a sleep.
Here's an interesting line from that article, a letter from a friend to the author of the article:
'PS. Don't know when prestige manufacturers will figure out the vast majority of blokes with this kind of money have kids we're mad about - and that we'd like the option to take them with us. That's why the Conti has sold so well - it's the only option.'
watch out! there's a tiny bit of harsh profanity at the end of the article. good read though, makes a point.

on the birchwood Doug. Although it would possibly help AM in the profit area by haveing a 4-door, it just seems sacreligious to me for some reason.

i got the idea from that top gear article that this isn't actually the first time aston has made a 4-door.

Can you say Lagonda boys and girls? I knew you could.
With the success Aston has been having of late a 4-door Lagonda model is long overdue. Since the Vanquish is essentially going to be a hi-po DB9 this go-round I do hope they have the good sense to make a Vanquish-based Lagonda 4-door. This is money in the bank and right now Ford needs money.
For those who don't know Lagonda is part of Aston Martin in much the same way Daimler is a part of Jaguar. Sir David Brown bought both companies, Aston Martin and Lagonda, many decades ago and merged them into one company.
There have been Aston-based 4-door Lagonda's on two different models that I know of one in the 70's on the DBS and another batch of Virage-based 4-doors in the late eighties/early 90's. A stand alone Lagonda model was created in the early 80's and sold until the early 90's. There have obviously been other Lagonda's as well.

btw, Lagonda is actually a Native American word...it means flowing waters or something like it if I recall.
