4 door 5.0...
If Ford wants to save Lincoln from Mercury's fate, perhaps bringing this thing over would be a fine start as the new Mark Something-or-another (minus much of the teen-age kit on the body, anybody with more money than taste can slap that khrapp on later to make sure every cop in five miles glooms onto you like a rolling jelly donut.)
Really like how they integrate the brake vents into the "warpaint." Still wish the rear end of the Falcon didn't look like a holdover from 1998.
I think Ford's trying real hard to make a business for a rwd global sedan called Falcon in Australia and possibly sold as a Lincoln here. But it will be a couple years yet, and it's no sure thing.

That might be the reason(s), but Dodge was still selling 100,000 Chargers at the same time and Chrysler was selling additional 120,000 300s.
I dont know Zoran, maybe just maybe this is the piece that is missing from Lincoln Mercury, if marketed correctly every flippin Mustang owner with kids would have to have one of these to go with their stang... I drove the Cadillac CTS last week because my boss made me but it was awesome. I know Ford already has enough 4 doors in the fleet but I'm ready for this!

I dunno, even in the best case scenario Lincoln would't be able to move more than 20,000 of them ... in that case they might as well stick with MKS which is much cheaper to built.

Pontiac G8 was also offered with one V6 engine (3.6L) and two V8s (6.0L and 6.2L).
G8 V6 was rated at 17/25 mpg, which is about the same as Charger and 300.
Base price for a V6 was ~$26,000 and V8 was $30,000 ... same as Charger and 300.
They couldn't be any more similar.

Whoop let my mouth get ahead of my head there tlkin bout price. And i didnt remember any v6 for the g8?? Oh well anyway maybe ther are other factors as to why it didnt sell as much as chargers and 300's. Quality (interior exterior), design, history, who know what it couldve been.
Well main thing bout the g8 is that they didnt really bring it in at the right time. It qas kinda when the economy really started to sink, $5 gas prices were country wide and sports cars werent the biggest concern. Im actually surprised it sold the numbers it did, but thats partly because Pontiac went under. There are storiea though that its coming back as a rebadged chevy. And if that happens... Falcon, Commodore, Charger showdown!!!
All I know is that I would be in line to buy one as long as it was priced right. I love this car and I am also in the Mustang owner with kids club. It's getting harder each year to squeeze the kids in the back.
However, as you mentioned, Ford will likely be scared off by the G8's subpar sales performance and we will not likely see a Commodore variant stateside.
