2015 F-150 (P552)
Since the Atlas concept is now unveiled, and the hype has started to settle, let's talk about what the production model might have. I did some searching on one of our sister sites and found this from a member, who appears to have some inside info:
Discuss.
The latest information regarding the new 2014 or maybe 2015 F-150 was announced this morning. It looks like we'll see the addition of 2 new engines and quite a few nice features we've all been waiting for.
-Heated Steering wheel
-Extensive use of Aluminum
-multi contour seats like the SHO/MKS
-360 degree camera
-Active park assist
-LED box lighting
-tailgate dampener
-box with storage for ramps
-remote unlocking tailgate
-LED headlamps
-Active grille shutters
-stop start technology
-AND MORE...
As far as engines the 5.0L v8 and the 3.5L ecoboost are here to stay and are rumored to have increased fuel economy ratings along with more towing capacity thanks to the use of aluminum. They will be joined by a 2.7L V6 ecoboost 320hp/375 ft/lbs and a 3.5 N/A entry level v6 280hp/250 ft/lbs.
For those of you wanting a 6.2l V8 now is your time to go out and get one or order one before they are a thing of the past.
I wanted to share this with you guys first and we're looking forward to what the next generation of F-150's have in store for us.

To add to this, the one item I think is a necessity is to add a keyless entry or child-lock function to the tailgate. My father had his stolen from his Super Duty, and the replacement cost was near $3000. With the backup camera and possible addition of the liftgate step/cradle, I don't know why they'd run the risk of allowing a high cost item just walk away.

I lock mine when I go to large cities and stuff.

Nano for Mustang, please Ford!
Early rumours suggested a 700lb weight saving due to the increased use of alloys. Seems a tough nut to crack, think they can do it?

Ford could take a page out of BMW's book and make a smaller (4.0-4.5L) twin turbo V8 to replace the 6.2 if they wanted to. The increased power and fuel economy would work great in the Super Duty line.

I Have No Life
Yeah I saw more raptors the year they came out, then lightnings my whole life.
People LOVE this truck.
I'm curious about this '360' cam. Where is THAT going to be mounted.

If I had to guess, you'll utilize the backup and front cameras from the current truck, and add spotter cams on the side mirrors. Range Rover employs a similar system on their vehicles.
