2013 Ford Super Duty Platinum

http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2012/02...ew-grille.html

Michigan weather usually is never good this time of year, but one positive thing for our spy shooters is that the windy weather can blow the covers right off any prototypes that might be running around the bad weather. That's what happened with this Ford F-250 prototype.
It appears the Super Duty will get a modest update to the front fascia with a new grille, grille inserts and trim. Although it doesn't show here, this truck's tailgate was camouflaged, too.
We suspect the Super Duty may be playing with some aero changes in the rear, and possibly open/close louvres in the grille. We've heard that Cadillac and certain Chrysler vehicles have been testing at both ends with electronically controlled shutters and wind deflectors to help improve airflow and engine efficiency.
We're guessing you'll see the official debut of this new Super Duty at the 2012 State Fair of Texas.

Ford Revealing 2013 F-Series Super Duty Next Friday

This black sheet conceals an all-new model that will join the 2013 Ford F-Series Super Duty lineup. Ford hasn’t revealed any other information so far, though it has confirmed that the new truck will be revealed Friday, March 9.
The dark sheet covering the Super Duty pickuptruck precludes us from telling what changes Ford has in store. Given that we can’t actually see the car, we’d guess that this teaser image means that the toughest F-Series trucks will receive some sort of visual makeover or change.
Ford plans to unveil the 2013 F-Series Super Duty in partnership with the Professional Bull Riders; Ford sponsors the organization’s Built Ford Tough Series that is effectively the “major league” of bull riding. You can watch the truck’s reveal next Friday at 10 a.m. Eastern / 7 a.m. Pacific via a special webcast.

2013 Ford SuperDuty Platinum

Purveyors of luxurious heavy-dutytrucks are in for a treat: Ford unveiled the 2013 F-250 Platinum Super Duty pickup today, its most luxurious truck ever.
Differentiating the Platinum Super Duties from the more proletariat versions are swathes of chrome exterior trim and a unique mesh chrome grille. The wheels have been upgraded to 20-inch polished aluminum alloys with black inserts. Inside, buyers are treated to a revised interior with an all-new center stack. With the 2013 Super Duty Platinum, Ford will begin offering MyFord Touch in its F-Series pickuptrucks; the system has been revised for special duty for truck users, including redundant hard buttons for things like audio and climate controls that can be used with work gloves on. To better accommodate the MyFord Touch system, so-equipped Super Duty trucks will see their infotainment screen sizes grow from six to eight inches for 2013, and will receive revised gauges similar to other cars that offer MyFord Touch. Literally topping off the new center stack is a media bin that will have connections to USB, auxiliary, and a/v inputs (the red, white, and yellow plugs). Expect to see MyFord Touch to hit all versions of the F-150 and Super Duty trucks this fall for the 2013 model year.
The F-Series Platinum Super Duty will be available in a choice of Ruby Red, Kodiak Brown, Tuxedo Black, Ingot Silver and White Platinum; interior leather options come in either Pecan and Midnight Black. Platinum buyers will also be treated to standard features like a backup camera, power telescoping side-view mirrors, and remote start system.
The same two engines offered on other F-Series Super Duty models will be offered on the 2013 F-Series Super Duty Platinum. That means buyers get to choose from either a 385-hp, 405-lb-ft 6.2-liter gas-powered V-8 or a 6.7-liter Powerstroke turbodiesel that produces 400 hp and a earth-turning 800 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic with rear- or four-wheeldrive.
Pricing has yet to be announced, but expect the 2013 Ford F-Series Super Duty Platinum to start around $50,000; the 2012 F-250 King Ranch retails starting at $48.180. All of the 2013 Ford F-Series Super Duty trucks will go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year.

Ford didn't make a super duty Lincoln. But they did make a king ranch, Lincoln enough for me.
