2012 Ford Fusion

Thinking about buying a 12 Fusion SE for my wife next month. Ford has a 2500 rebate on the 12's because there is a new model coming out this spring. We went to go look at a blue one last week and it was beautiful. Very comfortable and spacious. My question is to other Fusion owners out there, how do you like your Fusion? Any quirks about them?

We have a first generation 2008 Fusion SE in my family.
It's a nice family car, very comfortable, with quality interior.
I personally don't like my Fusion because it's pretty noisy and 5 speed auto is just horrible, but those things were fixed on the 2nd generation.

We had a 2010 Fusion SE in that stunning Tuxedo Black with an I-4... It had stone gray leather with preforated inserts and Sync... It was like a little Lincoln without the Lincoln price... No quirks at all. It had decent power and drove great. It was a great car and I hated that it was gone one day when I came home from work after the other half got the impulse to buy a new 2012 Focus Titanium 5-door with MFT, sunroof and two-tone charcoal/brick red interior. I highly recommend the Fusion!

Parents have a 2010 V6 SEL. So far it's been a great car; good on gas, quiet, and comfortable on long trips. I've borrowed it in the winter when the Mustang rarely gets driven, and I can't complain about it.

Given the '13 Fusion will be coming out this summer, you might be able to get some really good deals on them between now and then.

My previous car was a 2010 Fusion Sport. That was a great car. The only thing I regretted was not getting navigation, heated seats, and remote start. I bought it in May 09 and drove it till this spring. 21k miles and no issues. It averaged 23 mpgs with awd. We had a rough winter last season with a ton of snow and it held its own with no issues. When I traded it in on the stang I didn't take a big hit either. They hold their value pretty well. You can't go wrong with any model, but with all the offers available you should be able to get one fully loaded for a great deal. Come this winters first snow I'll probably regret trading it in a little, but that's what my jeep is for. Good luck shopping and make sure you get the options you want.

I leased a 2008 Fusion SE with the sport appearance package and loved it! After that, I leased a '10 SEL with the Monochrome package and while I really liked it, the '08 was still my favorite. No issues with the '08, but the '10 had some transmission issues. It would rev really high and almost "jerk" into gear when cold. The dealership I work at took apart the transmission and found lots of metal shavings throughout the housing. They replaced the clutch and something else which improved the issue, but it never totally went away. I just think that one had a bad transmission. Working at a dealership, I've driven other Fusions and none have seemed to have the issue mine had. Other than that problem, I really liked it and definitely recommend the Fusion.

This was my '10, they look really good in Sterling Gray.
