Who knows when I will get a Mustang, I guess this is a great replacement for my Si, unless BMW coaxes me into a nicely used 1 M-Coupe.

I don't much care for the front end, although I suppose I could get over it, especially because if I got one it would be black or gray and the front end treatment wouldn't be quite so obviously obnoxious that way. The 19" wheels and tires on a car this size though, would be a deal killer for me. I don't like that the Brembo Mustangs come with such large diameter wheels and tires, and on a smaller lighter car, I just wouldn't go for it. Hopefully the regular Focus comes with a more sensible size, like 16", if so, I might consider that.

Seems like a manual is only available with the base package. Sport suspension requires an auto ?
We have been waiting for this car but my wife of 39 years will only buy a manual.
Same deal with the Fusion. Have to get a base model if you want a manual.
Didn't really want to wait until 2012 but we may have to in order to get the ST, or will that have some kind of auto ?

Sorry should have read this first

The standard transmission for the Focus ST is a 6-speed manual gearbox, optimized with more sporting ratios carefully matched to the performance characteristics of the engine.

Looks like we will have to wait until 2012.

I agree !!!!!! my wife has driven to work and back in bumper to bumper traffic for 30 years and just feels that she has more control with a manual.

I do the same, and love using the Mustang for it, I leave it in second and just roll along. With my Altima I manually put it in 1st otherwise the way the auto shifts irritates me. To many up shifts and down shifts all in the name of fuel economy.
