2010 Mazda6 Wagon: Sorry, Not For You America

This is the new Mazda6 wagon, debuting at Geneva in March. We'd like to remind you that, thanks to the buying habits of your fellow Americans, it won't be offered for sale in the US. Thanks, boring cow-like crossover buyers

Let's face it, Americans don't buy wagons.

I think Dodge Magnum was the only wagon that was sold in higher numbers.

Yet look at the demand for the new VW TDI wagons, and there's well over a million PT's (sort of a wagon) on the road.

That's too bad. I love wagons, out of the 20 cars I've had, about a fifth of them have been wagons, including a couple of Volvo 240 wagons, a Freestyle (Taurus wagon), and now our Subaru Forester, which is basically a "real" Impreza/WRX wagon. Give me a wagon with a manual transmission as a family car, and I'm a happy man.

So cars like the Mazda 3/MS 3 don't count? The SUV/crossover strikes again!

hmmm... regionally, and on the forums, there were plenty of TDI Sedans, but the Wagons had to be back-ordered because all the allocations were snapped up. This is before and during the cash for clunkers period.

I like a wagon...but I have a mental block on buying one without kids. I seriously considered a TDI wagon, but eventually opted for the Escape. I REALLY would have liked an A4 Avant...but that was way out of my price range!
