I'm very happy to see Ford paying more attention to its interiors and starting to sweat the details. Take the new gauges, for example. Gone are the cheap, generic, ugly ones in favor of this more dynamic and, dare I say, easier to read gauge cluster.
Nice job, Ford!
The exterior is dynamic too, though I suspect some will love it while others hate it. The rear is a bit less successful - sort of bland, though not offensive.

I think they are going a bit overboard, no, make that WAY overboard with that chrome tri-bar grill thing. They've shot way past a "Bold" styling element to just plain clownish. Maybe tone down the size of the tri-bar thing and use a more subdued brushed/matte metallic, maybe in a titanium hue or something, on that and the front trim rather than peacock chrome, which just looks low-rent, trailerpark show offy.
Rest of it looks pretty good, if just on edge of being a bit overstyled at points (guess they didn't fire the guy who came up with the Focus Coupe atrocity, though they must have upped his meds a bit and calmed down his drawing hand). That "plateau" lump thing on the hood looks pretty goofy, not quite sure what that was supposed to convey.
Interior is a step up overall, Ford does seem to be sweating the details much more here and conveying a sense of detail and craftsmanship. I could do without the blue bits, looks like a Ricer style of taking out random bits of trim and spraying them with a bit of Rustoleum that's been sitting next to the weed whacker in the shed -- cheap looking and quite in contrast with the upscale look of the rest of the interior.
Wheels look great, man, put these on a Stang! Surprisingly, the lower running board flares, as well as the front and rear valences look pretty darn good. Usually these bits look totally like the afterthoughts they usually are, but here, it looks like some genuine artistic style intervened. IMHO, these areas were done MUCH better than the '10 Mustang, particularly the lower rear bumper/valence area which is just a bloated, dark mess on the Stang.
Cheesy rear spoiler is as cheesy as these things generally are 90% or the time, but I guess the marketing departments feel impelled to tack these things on so the secretaries can look "bad azz" and all. Oh well, maybe a delete option?

YESSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you god they got rid of those aweful euro called taillights for some actual good looking ones!!!
I'm in love with the fusion, the love i wished i could have for the first but this one fixed everything about the old car.
edit: Only thing i don't think is so hot is the oversized front grill but i can live with it from the rest of the package.

I am in love with the new sport model. I always liked the Fusion and this one is just another step in the right direction. The exterior is very agressive while the interior looks to be a huge improvement over the current model (which isn't bad at all). Heck, with the 10' GT only getting a modest 15HP bump and mild restyling for my tastes.... I'm actually more excited at the prospect of a 6 speed, 3.5 Fusion with AWD and 260+HP!
I hope I can pick one of these up at a good price in a couple years make mine blue please!
