2010 Fusion is MT's COTY
COTY year might be a bit of a stretch, IMHO, but yeah, it IS a darned fine car and a hearty congrats to Ford for a job well done.
Now if they'd stick that Ecoboost beast out of the Taurus SHO in the thing, now THAT would get my COTY vote!

Did you guys notice how the 2010 Mustang in the COTY competition tied with the VW Golf and the Porsche Panamera for third over-all, while the Camaro was in a 4-5 way tie for twelfth over-all
(Smirk!)! The Mustang mighta finished second over-all (against a very high-scoring Prius) but the testers pretty much unanimously agreed that the current Mustang's V6 sucked--at the very least the Mustang woulda gotten sole possession of third place and the Panamera and Golf woulda had to settle for a tie for fourth (bumping the nasty Camaro to a tie for thirteenth
). That Mustang averaged .95 G in their testing, astonishing them all. The Camaro averaged .89 G
. The Mustang easily won the figure eight by 1.4 seconds, too.
With the new 3.7L V6, the Mustang woulda kicked serious, serious ***--maybe pulling off a 1-2 sweep with the Fusion. The Taurus SHO finished way down--roughly fourth from the bottom of twenty-three eligible vehicles. The Taurus is like the Camaro in that respect: waaay too big and waaay too heavy.

This! An AWD 300HP Fusion would Rock!
Something to hang with the EVOs and WRXs.
