Thanks TN......first time I've seen those. I never even assumed it originally had 3 bar tail lights.....just about the only Mustang cue on that car!

Very interesting. I have waited many years for such prototype pictures to show up wearing Mustang badges and ponies. I think the red prototype was not bad looking. It would have been nice if the body design or some of it's elements were applied as a redesign for the RWD Fox Mustang platform. I was really fond of the wraparound rear quarter windows back then. I really like the triple element taillamps on the red car. Look closely and you will see the stepped louvered treatment was eventually applied to the 1999 Mustang.

It looks like a combination of Pontiac Firebird and Chevrolet Cavalier from the early 1980s.

The Probes were great sport coupes, especially the second gen (spoiler, I had a '94 GT), but they were most definitely NOT Mustangs. Glad Ford sobered up, slapped back the MBA and marketing suits who thought they could foist a FWD Mustang on a gullible market, and continued on with the RWD Stang. Trouble was, that stretched on an already aging chassis into eternity before it was replaced by a genuinely new and modern one in 2005, nearly two-decades after all this came to pass.
