Just wondering how many miles you have on your stock 4.6 and if you have had any problems.

65,800 miles on my 1996 SN-95 (1st year the stang came with the 4.6L). 40,000 of that with a Vortech supercharger. So far so good.

little over 50,000 and the only issue I've had was a problem with acceleration that turned out to be a bad batch of fuel.

Bought my 99GT Conv used with 91K miles on it. It now has approx 94K after 8 months (its a toy not a daily driver). So far the car has two problems, neither of which are engine related. The first is a leaking Conv. top (just part of owning a Conv.), and the second is my driver side door is coming apart (the outside "skin" has started pulling away from the door).

had a tad over 140k on the mystic cobra when I sold it. Only thing that had gone bad was the IMRC controller which on those 4v's, was well known for going out.

I don't have a 4.6L....but my 3.8L (96) is at about 340,000.

My old speedometer gave out at about 320,000 miles and swapped it out and put about 20K miles in the past year and half.

Stock engine....doesn't burn oil and still running good.

I have 125,600 miles on mine. I am the original owner. I need a new tranny or a rebuild. Rear main seal is leaking and the car slips (auto tranny). Should I buy a new one (I dont know where to buy one) or take it to a tranny shop. Thanks

take it to the pro's. you may save a few bucks if you can find a rebuilt trans and do the swap yourself.
