Whats next!?

New fr500 rims and tires from AM are on there way... That means one thing... What's next.

I'm doing suspension work now. Should I get springs and camber plate or struts and shocks?

If you aren't lowered already I would do springs and shocks. Depending on how low you go camber plates as well. Your new wheels will look lots better without 12 inches of fender gap.

Haha very true. I want springs and camber plates but I can really only afford the springs and plates OR the struts and shocks at a time.

I wouldn't do springs without shocks and struts. But that's just me.

Can you do springs and shocks/struts? I know a lot of people talk about camber bolts to fix their camber issues after lowering. There is also another option. Moog suspension parts makes what is called a camber wedge. It is a wedge that has notches on it in increments. It goes between you strut and the bolts. The more positive camber you need the farther you push the wedge in. They cost like 25 or 30 bucks you can get them at o Reilly. Could be a decent alternative until you can afford the plates.

Well I mean moog suspension supplies NASCAR with their suspension parts. I have never read the parts failing anywhere. Is it as good as CC plates? no. Because it doesn't affect caster adjustment at all. If you don't have the money for CC plates then it is a low cost alternative to get you through until you can afford them. I don't think they are shady, just a suggestion though since you are on a budgt

Hmm I appreciate the knowledge. I'll be able to afford them but it'll just be at a different time you know. My father has tokico struts and shocks on his 93 GT. it handles great. I figured I'd do that first then lower the car on my next paycheck lol.

I would go with a proper camber kit, I run camber plates from maximum motorsports. If you do springs and camber plates get your strut/shock fund going quick, the stock dampers are NOT made for lowering springs so thier life span is going to be short lived. it will work but for a short time but probally enough for you to save up, you will not get the most out of teh combo and will no doubt geta leak at some point but once you complete the package you will be full of win

Buy the shocks and struts, put them on. And when you can afford the the springs and CC plated get them and put them on. I have tokico hps should ls and struts, frpp c springs and mm CC plates. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with the whole setup. In total it cost right around $800. I did all the labor myself though.

I think I'll do the struts and shocks first. I drove a 2012 v6 auto vert and it handled better then my 04 gt... It IS time for the suspension upgrade.

I would go with h&r race or sport springs. They have a higher spring rate and handle better. I have the sportlines and while they handle well, they leave a bit to be desired imo.

I wish I would have gone with the h&r race springs -____-
IMO get those, some konis or bilsteins, and mm CC plates and you will have a pretty solid setup. Keep in mind though, our cars benefit alot from subframe connectors.

Lots of good info here. I'm trying to get a really nice stance and I want drivability along with a asphalt bending suspension. Found MM connectors at AM. Never even thought about adding this. Probably do this before the sway bars.
