Ultimate 99-04 Mustang
I want opinions on what the ultimate 99-04 Mustang is. I can't decide wether it's the 2000 Cobra R or the 2003 Cobra 10 Aniversery.

The 'ultimate' in terms of performance would have to be the 03 cobra.
In terms of collectiblity and style you have to give the nod to the 00 R model.
As a matter of personal opinion though, I'd take a Cobra R over a terminator any day.

it so hard to say between those two. I would rather have a 2000 R but the 03 cobra is so easliy made capable and offers better daily driving ability

I guess we are all different, I think the Mach 1's have a great shot at that title due to overall looks, balance and power. And the Stage 3 Roush is up there too I would think. Can't argue with the '00 Cobra R though.

I'm talking about Ford production. I'm looking to make my own Mustang Calender, so to speak, and I'm trying to get the "ultimate" Mustang in each era. 69-70 would be the either the 69 mach1, boss 429, or the 70 boss 351.
How about this, when you think of the pinicle of the 99-04 era, what's the first car that comes to mind when you think "ultimate." Ford production is the only spitulation.
I want to submit it to Ford and see it they'll allow me to sell it for profit..

me too....I've told Brad there needs to be a TMS calender every year...with members' rides in it...but it hasnt happened yet. Good mustang calenders are hard to find...I barely found a 2007 that was good enough.

I might see if Brad would sell it on here maybe... It won't be ready for several months, takes me forever to draw anything that is good to my own standards...

The '00 R for the win.
"ok guys, we've beefed up the suspension, put in a 6 speed tranny, and made the car look badass.. what do we do now??"
"Drop the biggest motor we can fit into it!!"

Seems the general concensus is the Cobra R. Only problem I've ever had with it is that you never see the real R's around. Which I guess leads to it's status huh?
I'll keep everyone posted on the progress. I need to reorganize my office, and do a few other things before I even begin.
I should probabally only similar topics in the other sections of the forums too. That way I can get everyone's opinion on what years era's Ultimate Mustang is, rather than just my opinion on it.

and people do one of 2 things with the 2000 cobra R's.
keep in their showroom or trailer to the track for race events.

i used to see one out here years ago - before the repro. wheels & body parts started coming out. kind of hard or too expensive to get the recaros to go along with it just to get "the look". unfortunately, the last time i saw it, the owner decided to "modify it a bit". put aluminum endplates on the wings and switched to a ricey-looking rear-exit exhaust setup. apparently, was a young guy who had a lot of money.
