well.....this is my first topic in this forum . acually in any forum the reason i joind is because i saw that u guys really try to help. so here how it goes.

i have an 04 V6 3.8L Silver mustang. i already got a CAI on it. very happy with the results even thogh it took me 5 hurs to install :bang: . my next step was the glow in the dark gauges. installed 1 hour (30 minutes just to unscrew the light ****). anyways......... my question are as follows :
1) does it make sense to install a supercharger on my stang knowing that i have an auto transmissin? if the answer is Yes, then that leads me to the second question >> i talk to much dont i?
2) what is the best brand for the money. consider that i just want 100 to 200hp increase tops. i dont want those 500 or 600 HP ones. that's just insane

if the answer is NO, i can not add an SC. i am planning to install a double exhaust pipes . probably magnaflow. how much increase in HP will i gain?

oh the name is Max by the way

Yes, you can put a supercharger on an automatic car. I think either vortech or paxton makes a good kit for the 3.8's.

You wont gain a whole lot of hp with the exhaust, but it will most likely pick up a few hp (could loose some low end torque though), and it will sound much better. Also, when adding a supercharger to any car, it helps to an extent to make both the intake path ( maf, throttlebody, and intake) as well as the exhaust sytem (headers, mid pipe, and catback) flow better.

thanx for answering my my questions. there is something that i didnt understand. what is "maf?" and by the way do u think an Auto trany can handle the huge increase in horsepower after an SC? i remember there was a topic about transmission change.

i would do some transmission upgrades along w/ the supercharger. i would definitely get a computer chip to change the shift points, a looser stall torque converter. that way you can take advantage of the SC. these dont give you any extra horsepower, but they will definitely make the car quicker. and the transmission will handle the power

yeah i figured the trany wont handle the increase in power. but what u said about the chip is interesting. i didnt know u can change the transmissin shifting with a computer chip. what i thought is to buy new gears which are closer and smaller than stock.

thanx for the reply
