Supercharge and turbo.
Supercharge and turbo.
(If i did this, it would many years away), but I was just wondering aimlessly in my thoughts, and I thought, what would if I put a supercharger and twin turbo charged it a 3.8? what do you all think?
Lots of money, lots of "wow" factor, not sure about the performance. Compound boosting seems more of a "bling" thing to me.
For the money you would spend on a compound boost set up you could really build a top notch motor and either run a really big blower or a nasty twin turbo set-up.

Compound boost, 03-04 cobra guys have done it. But seeing that they already have a SC on the cars it isn't as much trouble as adding both.
Honestly there is little point to do both, true you do get some benefits of both systems if you are doing roots or screw sc. Instant torque of the SC and high end hp of the turbo.
But compound boost has its drawbacks of weight and heating up the compressed air too much can make it prone to detonation.
For all that trouble on a 3.8 you might as well swapped in a 03 cobra motor and had just as much or more power, double the reliability and better sound.

For close to the same amount of money you can get a coyote motor and a single turbo and run 20psi and make more than a twin turbo supercharged 3.8. That's what I would do or, buy an MMR short block and use 4.6 heads and a single turbo system making 600 horse easy. What power do you want to make?

Completely agree. Unless your rolling in money and I'm sure as hell not. What I would do if it were me. MMR short block 2,500$ a single turbo system 5,000$ use my heads and a newer trans to handle power 2,500$ and i would safely be at 500 HP with no worries at all

On a small CI moter I would rather twin 62's then set up for a big 88, if you don't know why I take it you don't know much in this area then.
