The Mustang I could have purchased

I was looking at this before I bought my '06 GT. It had 20k miles on it but they just wanted too much (over 31k when it was advertised for 29k! and my buddy working at the local Ford dealer said I should be able to get it for 27k based on some insider information which was still more than I paid for my '06 GT) . I believe it was #293 or so of the 495 they made. I unfortunately only got to drive it when it was raining...sooo yeah. That might have been the deal breaker.... or the fact my dad kept telling me think about fixing the paint.

Part of me wishes I had gone this route.

you chose.......poorly

if history is any indication (and by history, I mean Indiana Jones), you should now rapidly age, and shortly die.

I like the movie allusion. Good call. But cmon.... I don't wanna age. Oh I'm happy with my GT, just looking back on what I almost did. Something about having 390 hp stock with the blower already on it. Oh well. I should just repaint mine the Mystichrome color.

The funny thing is that the 03-04 Cobras were selling so cheap when the 05' cars came out. I remember back in early 05' I could have bought a mystic coupe with 6000mi for $26,000. By the time i saw the car in the paper and called it was already sold ....but I just find it funny how these terminator cars along with the Mach1s actually went up in value the last 2 or 3 years!

Spoken like an economist.

I'd still keep the S197 myself. Although the MC is very nice.

I would always take 03/04 Cobra over 05+ GT.

I actually considered a trade recently with a friend for an 06' GT and asked members of the forum to help me decide what to do. I was really surprised by the amount of people who said keep the Cobra over the 06' GT it was like 16-2 I think. I'm glad that I did decide to keep it but im thinking I might buy a low mile used 05-09' GT in a couple years because I do love the look and overall quality of the new Mustang. In my area low mile 05' GTs are already selling for under $20,000!

The '03-'04 Cobras are pretty hard to find around my area and they always sell at a premium. Most people looking end up buying from off-island. Even the dealership sales people say good luck finding one because they sell pretty quick if they do get them. But, as others have said - enjoy the Mustang you have right now, because it IS a Mustang.
