Hello everyone, I recently purchased a 96 Cobra and I'm slowly undergoing the process of getting it right how I want it.
It already has a Steeda Tri-ax shifter, but I want to put a Hurst handle and ball on it. Does anybody know if this will work or is the bolt spacing different preventing this kind of switch (just to clarify I'm keeping the Tri-ax short throw system, just want to switch the shifter and handle). Thanks for the help!

 

I've heard a few different places that Hurst sticks do not have the right bolt spacing and will not work as-is, but Arin (future9er24) drilled a second hole with the correct spacing and has been using it for quite some time now. I would say go for it, and if it doesn't fit find a friend with a drill press willing to make a new hole for you.

 

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on it. My best friend has access to a drill press and already offered his services if needed. I'll post pics when I get it done (could be a little while). Thanks!

The shorter Hurst stick for the S197 Hurst Shifter also works on the Tri-Ax for SN95s . . . . .

 

I love it! It's a lot better than the tri-ax that was on it. I like the ball grip, and I like the taller swept back stick. Just having the different shifter makes it even more fun to drive.
