so today i was thinking about installing an iPad mini in my 2000 gt, i was thinking the first step would be to go to the junk yard and get the double din unit out of an 01-04 and mount the ipad in that, but i dont really know anything about making it work once its in the car, power, audio, etc... would i need to put new speekers in? i dont have a problem with the Mach audio thats in it now. will i need an amp? idk, any info would help, thanks

 

I know there were a couple of aftermarket companies that were working on dash kits that would allow you to use an IPad or IPad mini as a 'head unit' but I heard that these ideas were shot down due to distracted driving laws and liability. I know that a couple of custom shops have modified the dash etc to make one fit. I did a google search and found tons of links.

Hey guys! Just completed my install of a new HU (Kenwood DNN770HD) and an iPad Mini in-dash in my 2012 Roush State II Mustang GT. I also added a Maestro RR unit to retain all Sync and Steering Wheel Controls for iPad and HU. Please check it out (and share), and let me know what y'all think. Comments and suggestions appreciated!
