rim Size
rim Size
Hi, I'm buy new bullet rims for the rear of my car. I/m looking at either 17 inch by 10.5 inch deep dish or 18 by 10 inch deep dish. the only problem is i don't now the size of my rims i already have. the tire size is 245/17, is that 17 inches, because when i measure the rim itself i measure 18 inches. thank you for your help.
Yes you have 17 inch rims. 245 is the width of the tire in millimeters, the next number S/B 45, which means your sidewall height is 45% of the width or 110 mm, the last number usually preceeded by "R" is your Rim diameter.
stock rims are 17x8
there not stock. when i bought the car used in 05, it had the bullitt rims on it already, i just want to put wider tires on the back, im not sure if i want to do a staggered look or stay with the same size
17's with alot of meat look really strong and muscular, so there is that. 18's with the low profiles look sleek and fast. So it depends what you are looking for. If your body is stock, no aftermarket side skirts, I would probably stay with 17's and it will be cheaper in the long run. Unless you are a racer I would not recommend the 315 mainly because of the cost, although they are two and three quarter inches wider then current ( i do not believe you can put these on the front). If you are going for a Wider look the 285 is over an inch and a half wider then your current ones.
what im saying is bullitt rims were stock on 01+ Mustang GT's and they were 17x8 rims equipped with 245/45/17 tires.
i didnt know they came stock in 01 to 04. i thought that came in 05. learn something new everyday. thanks for the help guys, i just ordered the 17 by 10.5 deep dish. i cant wait till they come in, ill post as soon as they are in and mounted. the next thing i need are so headers.
theres 2 versions, 2001-2004 cars had a 17x8 version that came on the GT based models (i think some v6's) they had the proper offset for the sn95 cars. In 2005 they did have a version of hte bullit wheel which was 17x7.5 i believe... it was a different offset beacuse the s197 cars are a tad different.
i don't have the factory's, i bought the car with chrome bullitt rims on it. i just wanted to change the rear with some wider rims. i just wasn't sure of the size. they be in monday, ill post some pics of them. does anyone know where i can get the best set of headers for my car?
I'd start a new thread if your wanting to cover exhaust
