I am in a VERY unfortunate position. I have 2 mint, drivable Mustangs . . .. and I need a 4 door! I am in love with both my stangs . . . . . but one must go . . . . please help! 01 Bullitt with 52K and an 05 S197 GT with 50K . . . . I bought the 05 GT new. I bought the 01 Bullitt last year . . . . I get ALOT more compliments on the dark highland green 01 BULLITT, but it is slower than my 05 . . . .I love how the bullitt sounds . . . . from a practical prespective the 05 is newer (the car I stay with will be my daily driver) .. . . .but they almost have the same mileage. no problems with either car . . .. . I should be able to get more cash for the 05 GT . . . . . . I hope NOBODY is ever in this situation!

 

I feel your pain, been here and hopefully never have to return. Best of luck, but go with your gut feeling on this.

 

sell the S197 and get an SHO :P

 

 

Keep the Bullitt, sell the S197, and then do some bolt ons for the bullitt, it's only 40hp behind to start with.

 

I own both my Stangs (great feeling)! But I used to love leasing! BUT recently Ford has left the CHEAP leasing . . . . For example, in 07 I leased a loaded Edge for nothing down ~$380/month . . . Last year Ford leases were EXPENSIVE! I have noticed BMW currently has a ~400/month nothing down lease on a 3 series . . . . . can I lease a SHO for $380/month nothing down? Actually that Fiesta hatch looks cool!

 

If you like turning corners though, the handling of the Bullitt is noticeably inferior to that of the S197.

I had something of a similar dilemna, for a two years I owned both my '01 Bullitt and my '08 GT. I really liked both Mustangs, but like the OP, got more compliments on the Bullitt. I autocrossed both of them, and unfortunately the '08 GT was as fast stock as the Bullitt was with modified suspension and better tires. I didn't need to sell one of them (my two kids ride in the back seat just fine), but I ended up letting the Bullitt go as neither one got driven very much, and the S197 was more comfortable, faster, and handled better.

 

Go with your gut man. Depending on how much you want to spend on the new sedan should make your decision. If you want more cash to spend on the new car sell the 05. If that is not important keep the car you like more... I think you know deep down which one you want to keep.

I'm gonna be in the same spot next year but my decision is easier than yours. Not a tough decision choosing an 03 Cobra over a 97 GT

 

If it's going to be a daily driver keep the one you are the more comfortable in... Which one can you live in easier?
