Noise while idiling

I hear a weird squeaking noise while idling. I do it's not very loud. I don't think it's coming from the engine. Where I hear it the most is under the car by the drivers door any ideas of what it could be?

Thanks in advance.

Does it make the noise while moving. If you can even hear it over the engine.

Lol I can't hear much over the engine but the squeaking sound is there.. But when I popped the hood everything sounded normal. When I checked underneath the car that's when I heard it most. From what I've collected people have told me it can be the bearings in one of my pulleys.

OH SWEET JESUS...

Hopefully someone can chime in in this one...

I had a 98 cobra that had a throw out bearing that was going bad, it made a squealing/ whining sound. Basically it is a part of the transmission, the part costs like 20 bucks, but getting to it is a whole other story..

Well I just bought a stage 1 clutch that comes with the throw out bearing. So I think that'll fix my problem.

here is a way to test if its the throw out bearing or pilot bearing. i think if it is one of them it would be the pilot bearing. the throw out bearing is only engaged when you step on the clutch pedal. if you press on the clutch and the sound goes away its your pilot bearing. the pilot bearing is what the clutch plates sit on.

I replaced the clutch today and i'm hearing a different noise. When I step on the clutch I don't hear anything. When I disengage it I heard almost a rattling or grinding noise. Also when rev the engine while in neutral it makes the same noise. Any idea?

Pilot bearing. Did they not change that when they did the clutch?

I changed the pilot and throw out bearing. According to the mechanic he says it has to break in. Is there any truth to that?

Hmm I haven't heard of it but it doesn't mean it isn't needed.

Ironically it was the clutch cable that needed adjusting. That was causing the noise from the throw out bearing. What a difference now. The stage 1 clutch is so much better than the OEM.
