New here. Tire question.

Hello all,

I have an '03 GT with 40K original miles. Need new tires. I have 245/45 R17 on it right now. Someone told me I can put 235/50 R17 and it would still look decent. I do not know much about tires, but will it make a huge difference between these 2 sizes?

Help.

Here are a couple of tire size calculators that might give you an idea of the change.

Not sure why you'd want a skinnier tire, less traction is had by that. Overall, there's no real difference in height, so yeah, it'd look ok. Speedo would read just a little bit faster than what you're travelling.

Pricing doesn't look much different, overall, so I don't see that issue.

Drifting?

Again, just curious. Looks wise it'll be similar.
